Tools for Building Extraordinary Sentences

I began my “ teaching career,” at about eight years old. Even though my “students” were a collection of treasured stuffed animals and younger family and friends, I knew I was born to be a teacher!

I have always had a special place in my heart and a passion for reaching those who struggle to learn. In addition, learning should be engaging and fun! The result of these lifetime experiences and my love for teaching resulted in the birth of Colorful Language, a multi-sensory/multiple intelligence-driven grammar program.

I have experience with public, private, charter, and homeschool communities. In addition, I’ve lead professional development and workshops at the school and district levels. However, the most rewarding part of my career was serving as an Intervention Specialist with a focus on literacy and writing.

Throughout my career in education as a certified teacher /READ Act Certified, spanning 30-plus years, I have worked with students ranging  from kindergarten to fifth grade, serving as a classroom teacher, Instructional Coach and Mentor. My higher education background; Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education, and a Master’s Degree in Education, (focusing on the utilization of creative arts and learning) provided the foundation and research/evidence basis in the development of Colorful Language.

Just the mere fact that you have found yourself here, exploring our website, means you already share the same desires for reaching and teaching children. So, welcome to the World of Colorful Language!

Cheers to the beginning of a wonderful journey!
